HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Murray, who passed away on January 26, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Mary Murray was the daughter of Joseph and Rosella Murray and was one of 11 children; and

WHEREAS, Mary Murray was the devoted and loving mother of her two sons, Mickey and Timothy; and

WHEREAS, Mary Murray was a devoted and active member of the Immaculate Conception Parish; and

WHEREAS, Mary Murray's father was a Battalion Chief with the Chicago Fire Department; he was a hero during the horrific Our Lady of the Angels school fire where he helped to save many children; and

WHEREAS, Mary Murray's life continued her family's tradition of public service and sacrifice during her career as an Illinois State Police Protective Services officer in the Thompson Center in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Mary Murray was a dedicated and faithful officer whose smile never failed to brighten the day of those whom she protected; and

WHEREAS, Mary Murray's absence will be felt by all who knew her, and her life of service and love will not be forgotten; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Murray, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Murray as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
