SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Timothy Lee Davis Jr. of East Moline, who passed away on May 11, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Davis, the son of Timothy Lee Davis Sr. and Pauline Betty Jackson, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 22, 1952; he graduated from United Township High School in East Moline in 1970; he served in the U.S. Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Davis worked as a painter at John Deere for most of his life; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Davis enjoyed playing cards and gaming with his family; he also enjoyed watching old cowboy shows, including Gun Smoke, Rawhide, and Bonanza; he loved socializing and never knew a stranger; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Davis was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Timothy Davis is survived by his mother, Pauline Davis; his sons, Phayzon (Cherylanda) Trice and Timothy Davis III; his grandchildren, Keishon Trice and Sereniti Trice; his siblings, Danny (Melody) Davis, Hilda Jones, and Jackie (Vernon) Tabb; a host nieces and nephews; and his significant other, Denise Trice; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Timothy Lee Davis Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Timothy Davis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
