SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Randy Lee Gori of Edwardsville, who
4passed away on January 4, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Randy Gori was born in Richmond Heights, Missouri
6to Lee and Judith Ann (Perkins) Gori on October 26, 1972; he
7graduated from St. Louis University in 1995 and St. Louis
8University School of Law in 1998; he married Beth Suchanek at
9St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in St. Louis on June 9,
102001; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Randy Gori was the owner of The Gori Law Firm,
12Gori Property Management, MedServe Record Retrieval, Madison
13County Title Company, and Gori, Realtors; and
 
14    WHEREAS, During his career, Randy Gori received many
15honors, including being named one of the Top 100 Litigation
16Lawyers in Illinois by the American Society of Legal Advocates,
17becoming a Life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates
18Forum, and being named one of the top 100 trial Lawyers by
19National Trial Lawyer; he was also a frequent speaker at
20national conferences on asbestos litigation; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Randy Gori was actively involved in several

1associations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association
2(serving on the board of managers since 2001), the Madison
3County Bar Association, the St. Clair County Bar Association,
4the Bar Association of St. Louis, the American Bar Association,
5the American Association for Justice, the Missouri Association
6of Trial Attorneys, and the National Asbestos Mesothelioma
7Trial Lawyers, where he served as president; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Locally, Randy Gori served as a board member and
9treasurer of the Edwardsville Township Democratic Club and as
10an Edwardsville Democratic Precinct Committeeman; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Randy Gori was a true philanthropist at heart,
12lending his time and resources to more than 300 organizations
13throughout the region; he was a major contributor to Land of
14Lincoln Legal Services; he was also dedicated to helping raise
15funds for organizations such as the Mesothelioma Applied
16Research Foundation, Land of Lincoln Legal Services, the
17American Cancer Society, and many more; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Randy Gori is survived by his wife, Beth
19(Suchanek) Gori; his two children; and his sister and her
20family; therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
22ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Randy Lee Gori and extend our sincere condolences to his
2family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
3further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the family of Randy Gori as an expression of our
6deepest sympathy.
