SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Gaebler, who passed away on August
416, 2019 at the age of 87; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler was born in Cleveland, Ohio in
61932; he moved to Chicago when he began graduate studies in
7psychology at Northwestern University; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler married Carol Armin Gaebler in
91969; together, they moved to Oak Park; they were married for
1058 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler was Chicago's first Head Start
12psychologist; he held leadership roles in the Chicago
13Psychological Association, the Illinois Psychological
14Association, and the National Association of School
15Psychologists; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler was a prominent school
17psychologist in Illinois; he worked at Oak Park and River
18Forest High School as a contractual school psychologist from
191992 until his retirement in 2002; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler served as a local election judge

1for over 15 years in Oak Park; he was also active in various
2Oak Park political groups and led a nonprofit organization; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler had a warm sense of humor and a
4passion for helping those in need; this can be remembered by
5family and friends across the globe, such as those he became
6connected with through an enthusiasm for ancestry and
7genealogy; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler is survived by his wife, Carol; his
9siblings, Dick, Ted, and Peggy; his sons, David, Ken, and
10Michael; his daughters-in-law, Lois, Ellen, and Susan; and his
11grandchildren, Rebecca, Joey, Ben, Anna, Madeline, and Sam;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Robert Gaebler and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Robert Gaebler as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
