SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas O. "Tom" Moore of Moline, who passed away on June 2, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moore was born in Rock Island to William and Marie (Tambascio) on December 17, 1948; he served in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moore served as a police officer for the City of Moline; he then joined John Deere and Co.; he retired as a maintenance engineer after a career spanning over 30 years; during his retirement, he drove trucks for Penske and developed a love of the road; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moore was an avid golfer and loved to laugh; he had a magnetic personality, a sharp wit, and a warm kindness; wherever he went, he made friends and left lasting impressions; his pride and joy was his family, and his proudest moment was donating his bone marrow to his brother, Russell; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moore was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Tom Moore is survived by his daughter, Abbey Helmetag; his son, Benjamin (Taneel) Moore; his grandchildren, Grant, Nicholas, and Olivia Helmetag, Tyler and Avery Moore, and Jordan and Bryce Iwinski; his brothers, Russell (Maria), Wade (Nanette), Michael, and Patrick (Cinnamon); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas O. "Tom" Moore and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Moore as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
