SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wallace D. "Wally" Furrow of El Paso, who
4passed away on April 27, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was born in rural El Paso to Caldwell
6B. and Alma Duncan Furrow on January 18, 1933; he married
7Lorene Bess in El Paso on August 4, 1953 and served in the
8United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 in
9the 82nd Airborne; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was the owner and operator of El Paso
11Grain, Sun Ag Inc., Furrow Winery, and Furrow Trucking, all in
12El Paso; he farmed all his life and worked with his son and
13grandson at Furrow Farms for the last several years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was the state director of USDA Rural
15Development; he was a past president of the Illinois Feed and
16Grain Association and the Illinois Wine Association; he served
17and participated in many professional and community
18organizations; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was a loving husband, father,
20grandfather, and great-grandfather; he loved nothing more than
21providing for and spending time with his family; he was a

1member of the Community Bible Fellowship in El Paso; he had a
2great zest for life and lived it to the absolute fullest; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was preceded in death by his parents;
4his son, Dennis Furrow; and his sister, Shirley Toole; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wally Furrow is survived by his wife, Lorene; his
6son, Wayne (Annette) Furrow; his daughter, Lori (Brad)
7Smitheram; his sister, Judy Stimpert; 10 grandchildren; and 14
8great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Wallace D. "Wally" Furrow and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Wally Furrow as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
