SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rod "Rodsey" Roof of Normal, who passed away on February 5, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Rod Roof was born in Canton, Ohio to Rob and Marjorie Myers Roof on February 3, 1954; he was a star athlete at Heyworth High School, where he excelled in football and basketball; and

WHEREAS, Rod Roof owned and operated Rod Roof Construction, where he was known for his quality and craftsmanship; and

WHEREAS, Rod Roof loved golf and had three holes-in-one; he enjoyed spending time with his extended golf family at the El Paso Golf Club; he also enjoyed his Schooners lunch buddies; and

WHEREAS, Rod Roof was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Rod Roof is survived by his soulmate, Rae Anne Campbell; his children, Danielle and Bretter Campbell; his stepson, Derek (Danielle) Sample; his grandchildren, Emma and Drake; his mother, Marjorie Roof; his brothers, Denny (Gail) and Jeff (Melody) Roof; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rod "Rodsey" Roof and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rod Roof as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
