SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Leonard Niemi, who passed away on November 10, 2018; and

WHEREAS, William Niemi was born on November 1, 1931; and

WHEREAS, William Niemi served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, William Niemi is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vera Niemi; his children, Janet (James) Sharp, Joyce (Gary) Sackman, Leonard Niemi, Jean (Tim) Craig, Richard Niemi, and Billy Niemi Jr.; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard Niemi; and his sister, Shirley Kangas; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Leonard Niemi and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Niemi as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
