AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 2605-440 as follows:

Sec. 2605-440. Assessments; online payment. The Department shall establish an electronic system to accept online payments for assessments for certain minor traffic violations issued under the Criminal and Traffic Assessment Act. The Department shall determine which violations are subject to the system and shall provide notice to a person who is eligible for its use. The Department shall charge a nominal fee of $2.50 for each transaction to maintain the system. The Department may adopt rules to implement this Section.
