SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

215 ILCS 5/370b.2 new

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that neither a group health plan nor an accident and health insurer offering group or individual health insurance coverage shall discriminate with respect to participation under the plan or coverage against any health care provider who is acting within the scope of that provider's license or certification under applicable State law.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning insurance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding Section 370b.2 as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/370b.2 new)

Sec. 370b.2. Nondiscrimination in health care. Neither a group health plan nor an accident and health insurer offering group or individual health insurance coverage shall discriminate with respect to participation under the plan or coverage against any health care provider who is acting within the scope of that provider's license or certification under applicable State law.
