SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/1C-1

Amends the School Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning block grants for school districts other than the Chicago school district.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section 1C-1 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/1C-1)

Sec. 1C-1. Purpose. The The purpose of this Article is to permit greater flexibility and efficiency in the distribution and use of certain State funds available to local education agencies for the improvement of the quality of educational services pursuant to locally established priorities.

Through fiscal year 2017, this Article does not apply to school districts having a population in excess of 500,000 inhabitants.
