Synopsis As Introduced
Provides that each State agency of the executive branch under the jurisdiction of the Governor shall immediately comply with the Project Labor Agreements Act. Provides that the Department of Labor shall review all pending cases under the wage laws, including the Wage Payment and Collection Act, the Minimum Wage Law, and the Day and Temporary Labor Services Act. Provides that, for cases under the Wage Payment and Collection Act, the Department of Labor shall refer egregious and repeated violations directly to the Attorney General for civil prosecution and take action to ensure that all other cases are proceeding quickly to binding administrative hearings and are then referred to the Attorney General for enforcement of the administrative decisions. Provides that the Department of Labor shall review and assess all pending cases under all other wage laws and take action to resolve them when possible or refer them as quickly as possible to the Attorney General for civil prosecution when it is not possible to resolve them. Provides that the Department of Central Management Services and the Department of Human Rights shall review the State's pay plan to eliminate bias generated by asking employees for salary history. Contains provisions regarding: savings; prior executive orders; severability; and other matters. Effective immediately.
