AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by |
adding Section 356z.53 as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/356z.53 new) |
Sec. 356z.53. Prenatal vitamins coverage. A group or |
individual policy of accident and health insurance that is |
amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, |
2024 that provides coverage for prescription drugs shall |
provide coverage for prenatal vitamins when prescribed by a |
physician licensed to practice medicine in all of its branches |
or an advanced practice registered nurse licensed under the |
Nurse Practice Act.
