AN ACT concerning State government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The General Assembly Compensation Act is amended |
by adding Section 5 as follows:

Sec. 5. Prohibition on sexual harassment payoffs. |
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no public funds, |
including, but not limited to, funds appropriated for office |
allowances under Section 4, shall be paid to any person in |
exchange for his or her silence or inaction related to an |
allegation or investigation of sexual harassment, as defined in |
Section 5-65 of the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act, |
committed or allegedly committed by a member of the General |
Assembly.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
