AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing |
Section 1-118 as follows:
|
(40 ILCS 5/1-118)
|
Sec. 1-118. Veterans' rights. |
(a) All pension funds and retirement systems
subject to |
this Code shall comply with the requirements imposed on them by |
the
federal Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment |
Rights Act (P.L.
103-353).
|
(b) All pension funds and retirement systems subject to |
this Code shall comply with the federal Heroes Earnings |
Assistance and Relief Tax Act of 2008 (P.L. 110-245). |

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
