AN ACT concerning finance.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Illinois State Auditing Act is amended by |
adding Section 2-15 as follows:

Sec. 2-15. Fraud hot line. The Office of the Auditor |
General shall operate a toll-free telephone hot line for the |
public to report allegations of fraud in the executive branch |
of State government. The Office may conduct audits concerning |
alleged fraud and, in appropriate circumstances, may refer |
allegations of fraud to law enforcement authorities or other |
governmental entities with jurisdiction over the alleged |
fraud. The Office shall adopt rules for the implementation of |
this Section.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
