AN ACT concerning State government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Capital Development Board Act is amended by |
adding Section 18 as follows:
|

Sec. 18. Study; building energy labels. |
(a) On and after the effective date of this amendatory Act |
of the 96th General Assembly, the Board, in consultation with |
the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, shall |
initiate a study of building energy performance measures for |
the purposes of identifying a simple and easily understood |
label for a building or facility that indicates its energy use. |
(b) The Board shall identify no less than 10 buildings to |
serve as case studies for measuring, reporting, and comparing |
the energy consumption using widely recognized and accepted |
indicators such as British Thermal Units per square foot. |
Consideration shall be given for a variety of representative |
building types in different geographic regions of the State to |
provide additional information and data. The Board shall use |
existing reports and data from the Illinois Energy Efficiency |
Committee created by Executive Order 2009-07, the Commercial |
Buildings Energy Consumption Survey, the Residential Energy |
