AN ACT concerning education.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Police Training Institute Act is amended by |
changing Section 1 as follows:
|
(110 ILCS 370/1) (from Ch. 144, par. 63a)
|
Sec. 1. The trustees of the University of Illinois shall |
establish a school
to be called the Police Training Institute |
for the purpose of training
police officers in the State of |
Illinois in the methods of maintaining
police services at a |
level consistent with the needs of the community. The
training |
offered in the Police Training Institute shall be under the
|
direction of the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for |
Academic Affairs at
Division of University Extension Services |
of the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
