AN ACT concerning property.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Condominium Property Act is amended by |
adding Section 30.5 as follows:
|
(765 ILCS 605/30.5 new)
|
Sec. 30.5. Conversion of apartments. In the case of the |
conversion of an apartment building into condominium units, a |
municipality shall have the right to inspect the apartment |
building prior to the conversion to condominium units and may |
require that each new proposed condominium unit comply with the |
current life safety, building, and zoning codes of the |
municipality.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
