AN ACT concerning education.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
2-3.137 as follows:
|
(105 ILCS 5/2-3.137 new) |
Sec. 2-3.137. School health recognition program. The State |
Board of Education shall establish a school health recognition |
program that: |
(1) publicly identifies those schools that have |
implemented programs to increase the level of physical |
activity of their students; |
(2) publicly identifies those schools that have |
adopted policies or implemented programs to promote |
healthy nutritional choices for their students; and |
(3) allows recognized schools to share best practices |
and model services with other schools throughout the State.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
