AN ACT concerning education.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section |
27-12 as follows:
|

Sec. 27-12. Character education.
Honesty, kindness, |
justice and moral courage.
Every public school teacher shall |
teach character education, which includes the teaching of |
respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, trustworthiness, |
and citizenship, in order to raise pupils'
the pupils honesty, |
kindness,
justice, discipline, respect for others, and moral |
courage for the purpose
of lessening crime and raising
the |
standard of good character
citizenship.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
