AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Police Training Institute Act is amended by changing Section 1 as follows:

(110 ILCS 370/1) (from Ch. 144, par. 63a)

Sec. 1. The trustees of the University of Illinois shall establish a school to be called the Police Training Institute for the purpose of training police officers in the State of Illinois in the methods of maintaining police services at a level consistent with the needs of the community. The training offered in the Police Training Institute shall be under the direction of the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Division of University Extension Services of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
