House Sponsors: HANNIG-FRANKS-FORBY-DAVIS,MONIQUE-KENNER Short description: LIQ CNTRL-SELL LIQUOR TO MINOR Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Provides that any person who is not licensed to sell alcoholic liquor under the Act and knowingly sells or dispenses or facilitates the dispensing of alcoholic liquor to a person under 21 years of age commits a Class 4 felony. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes everything. Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Pro- vides that a person who obtains alcoholic liquor and sells, gives, or delivers that alcoholic liquor to a person under 21 years of age, except as part of a religious ceremony, is guilty of a Class A mis- demeanor and the sentence shall include a fine of a least $500 for a first offense and at least $2,000 for a second or subsequent offense. Provides that the person is guilty of a Class 4 felony if a death occurs as a result of the violation.
