OCC-USE TAX-ART ORGS-EXEMPT ID                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Use Tax Act, the Service  Use  Tax  Act,  the  Service      
   Occupation  Tax  Act, and the Retailers' Occupation Tax Act.  Provides      
   that a not-for-profit arts or cultural organization otherwise eligible      
   for an exemption under the Acts  shall  not  make  tax-free  purchases      
   unless it has an active identification number issued by the Department      
   of Revenue.  Effective July 1, 2001.
