House Sponsors: RIGHTER. Short description: FIREARM OWNERS ID-SEARCH Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Provides that a peace officer may not search a person for the sole reason that the person has been issued a Firearm Owner's Identification Card by the Department of State Police. Provides that the issuance of a Firearm Owner's Identification Card does not in and of itself constitute probable cause to search a person and does not constitute a reasonable suspicion that the peace officer or another person is in danger of attack that would justify the peace officer searching the person for weapons. Effective immediately.
