REGULATION OF PROFESSIONS-TECH                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Dental Practice Act. Makes a technical change      
   in a Section concerning the administration of  general  anesthesia  or      
   parenteral conscious sedation.                                              
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          225 ILCS 25/8.1                                                      
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          225 ILCS 25/8.2 new                                                  
        Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois      
   Dental Practice Act. Prohibits  a  dentist  from  placing  mercury  or      
   mercury  amalgam  fillings  in specified patients. Prohibits a dentist      
   from using mercury or mercury amalgam in a dental procedure unless the      
   patient is informed of (i) the intended  use  of  mercury  or  mercury      
   amalgam, (ii) the potential advantages and disadvantages of the use of      
   the   mercury   or  mercury  amalgam  that  relate  to  health,  human      
   biological,  or  environmental  issues,  and  (iii)  the  options  for      
   completing the dental procedure using materials other than mercury  or      
   mercury amalgam.
