Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Pension Code. Makes a technical change  in  a      
   Section concerning downstate firefighters.                                  
          PENSION NOTE (Illinois Pension Laws Commission)                      
          HB 4527 has no fiscal impact.                                        
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          40 ILCS 5/4-101                 from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 4-101         
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          40 ILCS 5/4-109.1               from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 4-109.1       
          40 ILCS 5/4-109.2               from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 4-109.2       
          40 ILCS 5/4-114                 from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 4-114         
          30 ILCS 805/8.26 new                                                 
        Deletes everything.  Amends the Downstate Firefighter Article  of      
   the  Illinois  Pension  Code.    Provides  for a 3% annual increase in      
   pensions to  surviving  children.    Incrementally  increases  certain      
   minimum   retirement,   disability,  and  surviving  spouse  pensions.      
   Provides that the minimum monthly pension  payable  to  the  surviving      
   spouse  of a firefighter who died while receiving a retirement pension      
   shall be 50% of the  monthly  retirement  pension  that  the  deceased      
   firefighter  was  receiving at the time of death, including any annual      
   increases that have accrued.  Adds a compounded 3% annual increase  in      
   survivor  pensions  payable  on  January  1,  2003.   Amends the State      
   Mandates  Act  to  require   implementation   without   reimbursement.      
   Effective immediately.
