Short description: 
CD CORR-DRUG CRIMES                                                        

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends  the  Cannabis  Control  Act,  the   Illinois   Controlled      
   Substances  Act, and the Unified Code of Corrections.  Provides that a      
   person convicted of a violation of the Illinois Controlled  Substances      
   Act  or  the  Cannabis  Control  Act  shall, if sentenced to a term of      
   imprisonment, be sentenced to any term of imprisonment imposed by  the      
   court  not  to  exceed  the  greater  of  the maximum sentence for the      
   classification of the offense that the person was convicted for or the      
   maximum sentence prescribed  in  the  statute  creating  the  offense.      
   Effective immediately.                                                      
          JUDICIAL NOTE (Illinois Courts Administrative Office)                
          HB 4275 would neither increase nor decrease the number of            
          judges needed in the State.
