House Sponsors: COULSON. Short description: FIREARM SAFETY REGULATION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Attorney General Act. Permits the Attorney General by rule to regulate the safety of firearms and firearm ammunition sold in this State. Permits the Attorney General to prohibit the sale and require the recall of firearms and firearm ammunition that the Attorney General determines to be defective or unsafe. Permits the Attorney General to require or perform tests on firearms and firearm ammunition. Permits the Attorney General to impose civil penalties for violations and to seek injunctive relief. Exempts the Attorney General from criminal and civil liability for injuries or property damage resulting from the rules or the failure to adopt rules.
