Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Amends the Township Code. For the period of one year, allows
township boards of townships located in a county with a population of
less than 100,000 to, by ordinance, transfer moneys from the public
assistance fund to the road and bridge fund if an amount of at least
$5,000 remains in the public assistance fund. Effective immediately.
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
          Deletes reference to:
          60 ILCS 1/255-5
          Adds reference to:
          60 ILCS 1/235-20
Deletes everything. Amends the Township Code. Provides that the
optional one-time transfer of moneys from the general assistance fund
to the general township fund may not be completed later than one year
after the effective date of this amendatory Act (instead of "the end
of fiscal year 1992"). Provides that any township that has certified a
new levy or an increase in the levy during the calendar year 2002
(instead of 1990) may not use the optional one-time transfer of funds.
   Effective immediately.
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.

the transfer is equal to the greater of (i) the amount of the town-
ship's expenditures in the previous fiscal year for general assistance
or (ii) an amount equal to either 0.10% of the last known total equal-
ized value of all taxable property in the township or 100% of the

previous fiscal years (instead of just "0.10% of the last know total
equalized value of all taxable property in the township").
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2.
