CT CLAIMS-DCORR-SUBCONTRACTOR                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends  the  Court  of  Claims  Act  and  the  Unified  Code   of      
   Corrections.  Provides  that if a person furnishes services, labor, or      
   material to a contractor for the purpose of enabling the contractor to      
   perform a contract with  the  Department  of  Corrections  to  provide      
   medical,  food,  or other basic services to incarcerated person in the      
   Department's custody, then the person furnishing the services,  labor,      
   or  material has a lien against the moneys due the contractor from the      
   State under the contract. Provides that the  lien  shall  be  for  the      
   value  of  the  services,  labor, or material provided. Authorizes the      
   lienholder to maintain an action in the Court of Claims for an  amount      
   not exceeding 50% of the amount due the lienholder from the contractor      
   if the lienholder is unable to enforce the lien.
