VEH CD-AIRPORTS-FACILITY FEES                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code.  Makes a technical change in  a      
   Section concerning the Secretary of State.                                  
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          625 ILCS 5/2-104                                                     
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          625 ILCS 5/6-305                from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 6-305          
          815 ILCS 505/2Z                 from Ch. 121 1/2, par. 262Z          
        Deletes everything. Amends the  Illinois  Vehicle  Code  and  the      
   Consumer  Fraud  and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Provides that a      
   public airport may, if approved  by  its  local  government  corporate      
   authorities  or  its  airport  authority,  impose  a customer facility      
   charge upon customers of rental car companies for specified  purposes.      
   Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law, the charges      
   are  not  subject  to  retailer occupation, sales, use, or transaction      
   taxes.  Establishes  requirements  for  disclosure  of  this  customer      
   facility charge. Provides that a rental car company that collects from      
   its  customers  a  customer  facility charge and engages in a practice      
   which does not comply with these and other specified  requirements  of      
   the  Illinois  Vehicle  Code  provision  commits  an unlawful practice      
   within the meaning  of  the  Consumer  Fraud  and  Deceptive  Business      
   Practices Act.
