House Sponsors: WRIGHT. Short description: VEH CD-SIZE-WEIGHT-LOAD PERMIT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Code limits the authority of home rule units to adopt truck regulations or assess fines that are not identical in substance with provisions of the Code regarding size, weight, and load permits, except as express authority may be granted in those provisions. Provides that any driver or owner of a vehicle with multiple violations of provisions limiting wheel and axle loads and gross weights shall not be charged or issued multiple citations. Provides that a single charge does not prohibit an additional charge under provisions requiring payment of the appropriate registration fees and flat weight tax. Effective immediately.
