Short description: 
LAW ENFORCEMENT STATISTICS                                                 

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Attorney General  Act  and  the  Department  of  State      
   Police  Law  of  the  Civil Administrative Code of Illinois.  Provides      
   that  the  Department  of  State  Police  shall   compile   statistics      
   concerning  criminal  and  traffic  law  enforcement,  including those      
   relating to  the  frequency  of  traffic  stops  and  the  age,  race,      
   ethnicity,  and sex of the person stopped, the alleged violations that      
   led to the stop, whether the vehicle or persons in  the  vehicle  were      
   searched,  and whether an arrest resulted from the stop. Provides that      
   the Attorney General shall investigate any complaints in the disparity      
   in enforcing criminal laws and traffic laws of this State  based  upon      
   race, ethnicity, age, or sex and shall publish an annual report of his      
   or her investigations.  Effective immediately.
