Provides that the offices of township treasurer and trustees of schools are abolished on July 1 following the consolidated election at which the question of abolishing those offices was approved by the voters (now, references are to the non-partisan election, which has been abolished). Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the offices of township treasurer and trustee of schools are abolished on January 1 of the calendar year immediately following the calendar year of the consolidated election at which the question of abolishing those offices was approved by the voters (instead of on July 1 following the consolidated election). Makes other changes. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the School Code. Provides that the offices of township treasurer and trustee of schools are abolished on January 1 of the calendar year immediately following the calendar year of the consolidated election at which the question of abolishing those offices was approved by the voters (now, references are to the non-partisan election, which has been abolished). Provides that the trustees of schools may by resolution make the abolition of these offices effective on July 1 immediately following the election approving the abolition of these offices.
