OPEN LAND-RURAL LEGACY                                                     

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Open Land Trust  Act.   Establishes  a  Rural      
   Legacy   program   to   enhance  farmland  protection.   Requires  the      
   Departments of Natural Resources and Agriculture to develop a  program      
   to  purchase  development  rights.  Authorizes funding of up to 10% of      
   the amounts available  for  the  Illinois  Open  Land  Trust  Program.      
   Effective July 1, 2001.
