Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the School Code.  Makes a technical change  in  a  Section      
   concerning State goals and assessment.                                      
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          105 ILCS 5/2-3.64                                                    
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          105 ILCS 5/2-3.64a                                                   
        Deletes everything after the enacting clause.  Amends the  School      
   Code.    Dissolves the State Testing Review Committee on the effective      
   date of the amendatory  Act.   Creates  the  State  Assessment  System      
   Review  Committee  to explore a new State assessment system.  Requires      
   the Committee to report its recommendations  for  the  system  to  the      
   Governor,  General Assembly, and State Board of Education on or before      
   January  1,  2003,   with   an   additional   report   regarding   the      
   implementation  of  the  system being issued on or before January 1 of      
   each even-numbered year.  Effective immediately.
