Short description: 
SR CITZN ASSESSMT FREEZE                                                   

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Homestead  Exemption      
   provisions in the Property Tax Code.  Makes a technical change.             
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          35 ILCS 200/15-172                                                   
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          35 ILCS 200/10-355                                                   
          35 ILCS 200/10-360 new                                               
        Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Property      
    Tax Code. In an assessment freeze provision for certain fraternal          
   organizations, changes the description of an organization that is           
   eligible for the freeze from on that was chartered in Illinois in           
   July 1896 to one that was chartered in Illinois in February 1898.           
   Provides for an assessment freeze, beginning in assessment year 2003,       
   for a fraternal organization or its affiliated Illinois not for profit      
   corporation chartered prior to 1920 that is exempt from taxation under      
   certain provisions of the Internal Revenue Code concerning not for          
   profit organizations and that meets certain other criteria. Effective       
   immediately.
