House Sponsors: POE. Senate Sponsors: BOMKE Short description: COUNTY COMMISSIONERS-TERMS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Counties Code. Provides that certain provisions concerning the terms of county commissioners in counties not under township organization do not apply to commissioners elected from single member districts. Requires commissioners elected from single member districts to reside in the districts that they represent from the time they file their nomination papers until their terms expire. Amends the Election Code to provide that the provisions concerning filling vacancies in elective county offices apply to counties with a board of county commissioners. Provides that if a county commissioner ceases to reside in the district that he or she represents, a vacancy in that office is created. Effective immediately.
