FIREARMS-REPORT-NO CARD

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Provides that
a transferor of a firearm and the Department of State Police must
report the name and address of a person to the local law enforcement
agency where the person resides if the person attempts to purchase a
firearm without displaying to the transferor a valid Firearm Owner's
Identification Card that has been previously issued in that person's
name by the Department of State Police. Effective immediately.
STATE MANDATES NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs)
In the opinion of the DCCA, HB 906 does not create a State
mandate under the State Mandates Act.
HOME RULE NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs)
In the opinion of DCCA, HB 906 does not pre-empt home rule
          authority.
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Firearm
Owners Identification Card Act. Provides that the Department of State
Police must report the name and address of a person to the local law
enforcement agency where the person resides if the person attempting
to purchase a firearm is disqualified from purchasing a firearm
because of information obtained during the dial-up telephone
communication with the Department of State Police.
