RAUSCHENBERGER-LIGHTFORD-TROTTER-LAUZEN, DEL VALLE AND HENDON. (FEIGENHOLTZ-BELLOCK-SOTO-MULLIGAN) 305 ILCS 5/5-5.04 new Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Creates a Medicaid Hospital Payment Task Force to conduct a comprehensive study of the Medicaid program to ascertain the adequacy of rates for inpatient and outpatient hospital care to ensure the continued availability of hospital care in this State. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Deletes everything. Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to add provisions substantially similar to those of the bill as introduced, with changes that include the following: (1) eliminates certain legislative findings concerning Medicaid payments to hospitals; (2) changes the name of the task force to the Medicaid Hospital and Physician Payment Task Force and directs the task force to consider Medicaid payment rates for physicians as well as for hospitals; (3) adds one person recommended by the Cook County Bureau of Health Services and 2 persons recommended by the Illinois State Medical Society as members of the task force; (4) deletes one person recommended by the Illinois Catholic Health Association as a member of the task force; and (5) repeals the provisions concerning the task force on January 1, 2004.
