BOMKE. (POE-KLINGLER-FLOWERS) 5 ILCS 375/3 from Ch. 127, par. 523 5 ILCS 375/6.14 new Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971. Provides that the term "dependent" includes an organ transplant recipient who is financially dependent upon the member and eligible to be claimed as a dependent for income tax purposes. Provides that when both an organ donor and donee are members of the same family and are both covered by the program of health benefits, the program of health benefits shall pay 100% of the donor's expenses without the imposition of any deductible or copayment. Applies to organ transplants occurring after June 30, 2000. Effective immediately.
