MULLIGAN-MATHIAS-HOEFT-COULSON-SCHOENBERG.

   40 ILCS 5/16-118          from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 16-118                     

        Amends the Downstate Teacher  Article  of  the  Illinois  Pension      
   Code.   Increases  the  annual period during which an annuitant may be      
   employed as a teacher without impairing retirement  status,  from  120      
   days  or  600  hours  to  168  days  or 840 hours per year.  Effective      
   immediately.                                                                
          PENSION NOTE (Illinois Pension Laws Commission)                      
          The provisions of HB 3964 would not increase the accrued li-         
          abilities of TRS, as the returning teacher would not revert          
          to active member status in the System, nor would the employ-         
          ment provide additional service credit in TRS.
