 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Roy B. Weller
 4    of Carlinville on Tuesday, December 31, 2002; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Weller was born November 12, 1910 in South
 6    Otter Township to Thomas Burton  and  Harriett  Mary  Johnson
 7    Weller;  he  married  Marthel "Teddi" Fries Weller in 1935 in
 8    Springfield; and

 9        WHEREAS, Mr. Weller attended Reisch Auctioneer School  in
10    Minnesota and was a farmer and auctioneer; he was a member of
11    Carlinville  Elks  Lodge 1412, serving as past exalted ruler;
12    he was a member of  Midwestern  Racing  Association  and  St.
13    Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville; and

14        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Weller  was  an active and energetic civic
15    leader and had served as a board member  of  the  Carlinville
16    School  Board,  Carlinville  National  Bank,  Macoupin County
17    Board, and Macoupin County Fair Board; he had served  on  the
18    Carlinville Township Board for 25 years; and

19        WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. Weller will be deeply felt by
20    all  who  knew him, especially his wife, Teddi; his daughter,
21    Carole (husband, Don) Walton; his  three  grandchildren;  his
22    four  great-grandchildren;  his  sister,  Lorine Painter; and
23    several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

24        RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-SECOND  GENERAL
25    ASSEMBLY  OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
26    of  a  great  citizen  of  the  State   of   Illinois   whose
27    contributions  to  his  community will long be remembered and
28    offer our sincere condolences to the family  and  friends  of
29    Roy B. Weller; and be it further

30        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
31    presented to the family of Roy B.  Weller  with  our  deepest
