 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were  saddened  to  learn of the death of Violet M.
 4    Moisa of Aurora on Sunday, July 14, 2002; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mrs. Moisa was born June 3, 1915  in  Aurora  to
 6    Gregory and Elizabeth (Bentz) Silagi; she married John Moisa,
 7    who preceded her in death at the age of 42; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mrs. Moisa was a founding member of St. George's
 9    Parish in Aurora and with her husband worked to found several
10    local  Catholic  churches  as well as helping some to expand;
11    she sacrificed much of her original savings after marriage to
12    help found  St.  George's  Parish,  rather  than  using   the
13    savings to purchase a house; she was a member of St. George's
14    Parish  Ladies'  Auxiliary  and she continually supported the
15    church throughout her life; and

16        WHEREAS, Mrs. Moisa worked during World War II to produce
17    artillery shells while her husband served in the  U.S.  Army;
18    following  the sudden death of her husband, she worked at the
19    Stephens-Adamson factory in Aurora to support her three sons,
20    Gerald, John and James, and to pay off her home; her  primary
21    hobby was gardening; and

22        WHEREAS,  Her  passing  has been felt by many, especially
23    her sons, Gerald (Kathleen) Moisa,  John  (Christine)  Moisa,
24    and  James  Moisa; her sister, Cornelia "Nellie" Johnson; her
25    grandchildren,   David,   Lisa,   John   and   Nicole;    her
26    great-grandchild,   Kyle;   and   many  nieces  and  nephews;
27    therefore, be it

28        RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-SECOND  GENERAL
29    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our sincere
30    condolences to the family and friends of Violet M. Moisa; and
31    be it further

 2    presented to the family of Violet M. Moisa.
