 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were  saddened  to  learn of the death of Robert A.
 4    Peters, Sr. of Aurora on November 6, 2002; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mr. Peters was born  on  December  13,  1927  in
 6    Aurora; and

 7        WHEREAS, Mr. Peters was a life-long member of Holy Angels
 8    Church;  he  was  a  graduate of Marmion Military Academy and
 9    served in the United States Army during the Korean  Conflict;
10    after  being  honorably  discharged,  he  graduated  from the
11    University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Pharmacy; and

12        WHEREAS, Mr. Peters  was  employed  as  a  pharmacist  at
13    Plache  Drug  Company  in  Aurora; he later co-owned Town and
14    Country Pharmacy at West  Plaza  in  Aurora,  and  eventually
15    became the sole owner until his retirement in 1994; and

16        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Peters  was  on  the Board of Directors of
17    Merchants National Bank and the Aurora  Chamber  of  Commerce
18    where  he  also  served  as Treasurer; he was a member of the
19    Knights of Columbus and the Moose Club; and

20        WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by  his  friends
21    and   family,   especially  his  three  children,  Robert  A.
22    (Theresa) Peters, Jr., Thomas A. Peters, and Mary Ann Peters;
23    his three grandchildren, Robert J. Peters,  John  J.  Peters,
24    and  Mary  T.  Peters; his brother, Frank A. Peters, Jr.; and
25    many nieces and nephews; and

26        WHEREAS, Mr. Peters was preceded in death  by  his  wife,
27    Mary  Jeanne Peters; his parents, Frank A. and Amalia Peters;
28    his  three  sisters,  Laura  Peters,  Esther  Soderberg,  and
29    Cecelia Lincoln; and his brother, Joseph  Peters;  therefore,
30    be it

 1        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
 2    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
 3    Robert A. Peters, Sr. along with all who knew and loved  him,
 4    and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends;
 5    and be it further

 6        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 7    presented to the family of Robert A. Peters, Sr.
