1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Leroy Cowan of East St. Louis, who passed away on March
5 31, 2002; and
6 WHEREAS, Mr. Cowan was a retired lumber worker in
7 Chicago; and
8 WHEREAS, The passing of Leroy Cowan will be deeply felt
9 by all who knew and loved him, especially his sister, Frances
10 Clayborne; his brother, the Reverend William Cowan; his
11 nieces, Barbara (Johnny) King, Geraldine (Dr. Hillard) Scott,
12 Nancy (Percy) Townsend, and Mary Cowan; and his nephews,
13 James W. (Betty) Cowan, John Edward (Dr. Karen) Cowan, Dr.
14 James F. Clayborne, Clarence Clayborne, and Howard Cowan,
15 Jr.; he was also the great-uncle of State Senator James F.
16 Clayborne, Jr.; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
18 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
19 all who knew him, the death of Leroy Cowan of East St. Louis,
20 Illinois; and be it further
21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to the family of Leroy Cowan with our sincere
23 condolences.
