92_SR0355 LRB9216400BHbh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Louis "Bud" Gartner of Northbrook, 4 Illinois, who passed away February 8, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Gartner was born March 20, 1924 and was 6 married to Rosanne Gartner; and 7 WHEREAS, Mr. Gartner was a man who always played down his 8 talents; most people knew him the "doorkeeper at the House of 9 the Lord" at the Village Presbyterian Church; yet, in 10 countless and invisible ways, Mr. Gartner touched almost 11 every member of his church with a tremendous ministry of 12 support and a never-failing smile of true friendship; he was 13 also known as the ultimate Cub fan; and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Gartner shared fifty-three loving years with 15 his wife, Rosanne, sharing with her his love for Jesus, the 16 family, and laughter; and 17 WHEREAS, Mr. Gartner will be deeply missed by all those 18 who knew him and loved him, especially his wife, Rosanne; his 19 children, Bill Gartner, Janet (Rick) Levy, Steve (Marlene) 20 Gartner, and Kurt (Susan) Gartner; his grandchildren, Kelly 21 (Diana) Kinsland, Kathy Grissom, Kayla (Nick) Martinec, Eric 22 Levy, Melissa (Eric M.) Laabs, and Nathan, Rachel, Jacob, and 23 Abigail Gartner; his eight great-grandchildren; his sister, 24 Mildred (John) Myers; and his many, many friends; therefore, 25 be it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 28 all those who knew him and loved him, the passing of Louis R. 29 Gartner; and be it further 30 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be sent 31 to the family of Louis Gartner with our sincere condolences.
