 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Illinois  Senate  wish  to
 3    express  their  sincere condolences to the family and friends
 4    of Anissa Renee Laktzian, who  passed  away  on  December  6,
 5    2001; and

 6        WHEREAS,  Anissa  Renee Laktzian was born on February 26,
 7    1968 in St. Louis, Missouri  to  George  and  Janet  Whitcomb
 8    Laktzian; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Ms.  Laktzian attended elementary and secondary
10    school in Belleville, graduating  from  Althoff  Senior  High
11    School  in  Belleville  in  1985; she earned an undergraduate
12    degree from Western Illinois University in 1989; and

13        WHEREAS, After graduating, Ms. Laktzian went to work  for
14    the  East Side Health District, where she rose to the rank of
15    director; and

16        WHEREAS, Anissa Laktzian was united in Holy Matrimony  to
17    Tommy  Lee  Harris,  and  to  this  union was born Bria Janet
18    Laktzian-Harris, a student at Governor French Academy; and

19        WHEREAS, Professing a hope in Christ at an early age, Ms.
20    Laktzian was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in  Belleville,
21    as  an  adult,  she became a member of the Pilgrim Tample CME
22    Church in East St. Louis; and

23        WHEREAS,   Active   in   professional    and    community
24    organizations,  Ms.  Laktzian  was a member of the Metro East
25    Task  Force  for  HIV-AIDS,  the  Illinois  Task  Force   for
26    Community   Planning   for   HIV-AIDS,   and   the   Regional
27    Implementation  Group  for  Region  IV;  she also served on a
28    variety of job-related  statewide  committees,  served  as  a
29    secretary  of  the  East St. Louis Lions Club, and was a life
30    member of the NAACP; and

 1        WHEREAS, The passing of Anissa  Renee  Laktzian  will  be
 2    deeply  felt  by  all  who  knew and loved her especially her
 3    daughter, Bria; her brother, George Gregory (Edith) Laktzian;
 4    her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Laktzian;  her  grandmother,
 5    Annie  Mae  Johnson;  her uncles, Louis (Claire) Laktzian and
 6    Willie Whitcomb;  her  aunts,  Lucille  Vartanian  and  Dixie
 7    (James)  Muse;  her  fiance, Edgar Finley, Jr.; and a host of
 8    other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

 9        RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-SECOND  GENERAL
10    ASSEMBLY  OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11    all who knew her, the death of Anissa Renee Laktzian; and  be
12    it further

13        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
14    presented to the family of Anissa  Renee  Laktzian  with  our
15    sincere condolences.
