1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Charles "Charlie" Edwards, Jr., who passed away on
5 November 27, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Charles Edwards, Jr. was born on September 19,
7 1925 in Verona, Illinois to Charles D. Sr. and Mayme Bishop
8 Edwards; he married Judy Crawford in 1948 in Nilwood; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Edwards was a United States Navy veteran of
10 World War II, having served in the South Pacific; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Edwards was employed as an electrician at
12 Fiatallis, retiring after 40 years; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Edwards was a member of Virden American
14 Legion Post, United Auto Workers Local 1027, and the
15 University of Illinois Alumni Association; and
16 WHEREAS, The passing of Charles Edwards, Jr. will be
17 deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his
18 wife, Judy; his sons, Jerry Charles Edwards and Mark W.
19 (wife, Cindy) Edwards; his grandchildren; and his several
20 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
22 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
23 all who knew him, the death of Charles Edwards, Jr. of
24 Girard, Illinois; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to the family of Charles Edwards, Jr. with our
27 sincere condolences.
